On a gorgeous summer afternoon, the 4th annual ALIFT golf tournament was held at Shadowbrook Inn & Resort on Monday, July 1st. ALIFT (Assisting Loggers Immediately Fund Trust) is a non-profit charity that was established to help provide some immediate financial help to the families of injured loggers. This year’s tournament raised over $10,000.00!
Big Ricky Lochen will have bragging rights over son “Little Ricky” as he won the long drive contest with a mammoth drive on hole #2 and also helped his team (Kyle Cavany, Dennis Montross and Robert Heed) win low overall honors. Many of the prizewinners generously donated back their prizes to help the cause. Deer Park Lumber (DPL) of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania was the major sponsor again this year. Cathy Rombola of DPL was the "Great Organizer" again this year and made sure everything ran smoothly.
Jim Soltis, President of ALIFT, wishes to thank the staff at Shadowbrook and all the volunteers who made this one of the most successful tournaments to date.
In addition, sincere thanks go out to all of the golfers, tee sign sponsors and those who donated prizes for the tournament for supporting this important charity. “We’re hoping we can count on all of you to come out again next year to support ALIFT so that we can continue to help the families of injured loggers”.
