Students from Wayne Highlands Middle School home rooms participated in a Dime War fundraiser to raise awareness and money for The Greater Lake Region Relay for Life annual event held this year on May 18, 2019 at the Wallenpaupack High School. Students collected dimes in their home room for the month of March.
A 7th grade student, Lily Pryzant, organized the fundraiser in memory of her grandfather Troy Johnson (former Honesdale borough councilman) who passed away in 2017 from cancer.
Lily and her family are active in the Relay for Life event that raises money with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Valerio’s 6th grade winning home room is pictured here along with Megan Gustafson from Warehouse 51 Laser Tag.
Each child in the winning home room received a pass of 5 free games to Warehouse 51 located on Church Street in Honesdale. Together the entire Wayne Highlands Middle School students and staff raised $1,525.40.
