Holly Hubert was honored by the Wayne County Business and Professional Women last night at a ceremony at Tick Tock’s Restaurant. Holly was designated this year’s “Hidden Jewel”, an award that recognizes someone for their unselfish, and quiet dedication to our community and those in need.

Holly taught liturgy to the youth in her church for 15 years, was a volunteer Girl Scout leader for 10 years, and Cub Scout den leader for 4 years. Holly leads our local “Project Linus” chapter, and has coordinated efforts with other quilters and volunteers called “Blanketeers” to make and distribute hand-crafted blankets for children in our area. These blankets are donated to those in need, homeless, out in the cold, or displaced by fire or other catastrophes. Holly and her team are dedicated to helping those less fortunate in our area, and have made nearly 5000 blankets. Sadly, most of the blankets are used right here in Wayne County.

Holly Hubert, is a Honesdale native, and attended the event with her husband, Ken Hubert a retired Pennsylvania State Trooper, and other family members. Holly and Ken have three children and two grandchildren.

The Wayne County Business and Professional Women (BPW) wish to thank Holly and all the Blanketeers for making the fabric of our community stronger.
