HONESDALE, PA— Each year the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) honors individuals and organizations that, through their tireless work and dedication to philanthropy, have improved the quality of life in our community and around the world. Recipients of the awards are nominated for demonstrating outstanding commitment and leadership in all aspects of philanthropy.
AFP recognizes these outstanding honorees who embody the true meaning of philanthropy, the love of humankind. DeLuca Frigoletto Advertising (DFA) was nominated by the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute and received the award for Outstanding Small Business during the 2018 National Philanthropy Day Luncheon held by the AFP Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter.DeLuca Frigoletto Advertising, Inc. has had the vision, creativity, ingenuity, and fortitude to stay in business for nearly 24 years in a competitive, ever-changing industry. Standing the test of time is a very real testament to the synergy formed by Michael Frigoletto and Paul DeLuca in 1993. Their work through the years has been smart, different and thought-provoking. DFA offers capabilities in every communication discipline and gives back to the community by offering its expertise and time. DFA donated to the creation of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute (NRCI) Spirit of Hope logo five years ago. Additionally, DFA has designed numerous posters, invitations, and outdoor advertisements for this specific program over the past four years, at no cost. NRCI is not the only area nonprofit to benefit from DFA’s generosity. Mick’s Barbershop in Honesdale hoists and voluntarily markets a biennial fundraiser, created in 2011 by shop owner and Michael’s wife, Michele Frigoletto, called Buzz Off Cancer. Michele encourages individuals to collect pledges from friends and family in return for having their hair buzzed. Mick’s Barbershop staff volunteer their time, and other funds are raised through the sale of t-shirts and wristbands. Other organizations that have received pro bono work from DFA include: Coaches vs. Cancer Equines for Freedom, Great Wall of Honesdale, Roots & Rhythm Festival, Luzerne County SPCA, Timmy’s Town Center, and Dress for Success Lacawanna. Finally, in addition to the agency contributions, Paul and Mike give of their personal talents as well. Mike & Michele Frigoletto have raised more than $20,000 for the Cancer Institute through fundraisers and donations since 2011. Paul DeLuca creates pottery from his Bank Street Pottery studio and donates a unique piece each year to the silent auction for Spirit of Hope. He also has donated his pottery to local churches and other fundraisers. DFA also motivates community involvement by being a part of the efforts of many other nonprofit organizations and causes; they lead by example and motivate community engagement. It is clear that DFA provides exceptional creativity with generous hearts.
