Hawley just celebrated its 20th Anniversary of Hawley Winterfest.

One of the most anticipated endings to our annual celebration is the announcing the winner of the original artwork painted by local artist Barbara Briden. This year’s winner was Keith Williams, picked from the bucket of entries collected before and during this year’s Winterfest event. The ticket was was at the Hawley Library on December 18th by Angelina Fitzgerald.

Keith is well known to local residents for his outstanding work at the Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors’ Center.

Keith shared, “I felt so fortunate when I received the call that I had won this year’s painting. I have purchased raffle tickets every year always in the hope of winning one of Barbara’s beautiful works of art. But whether I won or not I knew I was supporting the great work of the Downtown Hawley Partnership and contributing to the success of Hawley Winterfest. I will treasure this painting always.”

Deborah Corcoran, Director and Head Librarian at the Hawley Library added, “We were all excited when Keith’s name was drawn. Our community knows how much he has supported the DHP and contributed to our growth over the years.”

This year’s painting of The Settler’s Inn captures one of our most treasured landmarks and destinations in Hawley for local residents and visitors. “I loved doing this particular project. When I went to draw my initial sketches, I took particular care to capture the right angle so this painting would depict how remarkable The Settlers Inn truly is and how much it means to our town,” shared Barbara Briden.

The Downtown Hawley Partnership is an organization serving the merchants, residents, and institutions in the greater Hawley area. Information about the DHP and membership can be found on the website visithawleypa.com.
