The audience will be treated to the legendary bluegrass of the six-piece band, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, at the Wildflower Music Festival on Saturday, August 18. The incredible sounds of this six-time Grammy-nominated group begins at 6:00 p.m.

This bluegrass ensemble that has made both gospel and secular recordings since its inception in 1979. The band's true innovation came with its imaginative harmonies and its thrilling bluegrass reinventions of material from far outside the realm. The group has won and been nominated for numerous Grammy, Dove, IBMA, Inspirational Country Music Association, and Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) awards.

After working with great bluegrass musicians like Jimmy Martin, J.D. Crowe, and Ricky Skaggs, in 1979 Lawson ventured out on his own to front Quicksilver. The group soon began setting the standard for great bluegrass gospel music while garnering universal respect for the group’s exquisite vocal arrangements.

Lawson, an accomplished mandolin player, vocalist, and producer and native of Sullivan County, Tennessee, was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2012.

For his contributions to cultural heritage as a musical trailblazer, Doyle received the National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship award in 2006  DLQ is an influential force in today’s bluegrass world. Their last two releases (In Session,Burden Bearer) received back-to-back Grammy nominations in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

General admission tickets are $24; students 6 to 18 years are $12. There is no charge for children under six.

The general admission performance begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Wildflower Amphitheater on the grounds of the beautiful Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary in White Mills, between Hawley and Honesdale, PA. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and pack a picnic to enjoy the pristine setting. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be held at the air-conditioned auditorium at the Wallenpaupack Area High School.
