On June 5, Wayne County District Attorney Patrick L. Robinson announced the arrest of Derek T. Mills-Kizer, age 25 of Honesdale. Mills-Kizer was charged with one count of Flight to Avoid Apprehension, Trial or Punishment, a Felony 3rd degree.
The charge is the result of an incident that took place on May 10, 2018 when Mills-Kizer fled from deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department who were attempting to take him into custody on a bench warrant.
The bench warrant had been issued by Wayne County Senior Judge Hamill for failure to appear for a court hearing for a parole violation for Receiving Stolen Property, a Felony.
On May 31, 2018, Mills-Kizer was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Myers. Bail was set at $5,000.00 and he was remanded to the Wayne County Correctional Facility. His Central Court date is scheduled for June 6, 2018 at 9:00 am.
