2018 Prom News - Mark Your Calendars!: Do the words "Cinderella's Closet" ring a bell? Aurora Assembly #189, Waymart, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to leadership training through community service, is proud to announce their debut of Aurora's Closet.
This initiative is based on the concept and overwhelming success of the popular and well-respected Cinderella's Closet boutique.
Aurora's Closet will provide our local communities with an opportunity to purchase prom attire at a bargain price.
This public service event will be held on Friday, March 23rd, 6 - 8 PM & Saturday, March 24th, 9 AM to 2 PM at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 151 Belmont St., Waymart. Donations of prom attire, accessories and/or monetary donations also will be accepted. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Waymart Area Food Pantry.
Rainbow is open to all young women ages 11-20, who believe in a Supreme Being and value the great truths found in the Holy Bible, and want to have fun and serve their community.
Following are just a few examples of the numerous local service projects and fund raising efforts provided by Aurora Assembly #189: Billy's New Hope Farm, Gino Merli Veteran's Center, Dessin Animal Shelter, Marley's Mission, Open Door Café, Wayne Woodlands, and list goes on! In order to make the Aurora's Closet a long-term success, the Assembly will continue on an ongoing basis to reach out to our local communities, including individuals, businesses, profit and not-for profit organizations, churches, etc., to donate new or gently used prom attire, including shoes, purses, jewelry and/or monetary donations to support their effort.
