LAKE ARIEL—An unidentified male suspect robbed the NBT Bank, 1456 Lake Ariel Highway, Monday afternoon.

According to a Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) release, the suspect is described as a white male with a thin build approximately 6'2” in height.

He was wearing a tan trench coat, a tan hat and black mask.

The suspect entered NBT Bank around 3:30 p.m. and “brandished a rifle and demanded cash from the tellers,” states the release.

He received two bags of money and then proceeded to demand keys to a gray Toyota RAV 4 belonging to an unidentified female present in the bank at the time.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Search for the suspect was ongoing as of the time of publication Tuesday afternoon.

PSP updates note the suspect was seen riding in a gray, late model Subaru Impreza wagon.

He was dropped off just south of the bank around 1:50 p.m. and was wearing at that time “a reddish colored overcoat with a dark colored cap.”

He was seen carrying a large duffle bag.

The officer investigating this robbery is Trooper Michael Collins of PSP Honesdale.
