HAMLIN - Members of the Salem Masonic Lodge #330 in Hamlin donated baskets to families for the Easter season.

This year, 25 baskets were donated to families from the EverGreen Elementary School, part of the Western Wayne School District.

The baskets included all of the fixings for an Easter dinner.

The lodge supports families at the EverGreen Elementary School during Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“The members of Salem Lodge #330 enjoy coming together at Easter to fulfill a need for local families at the EverGreen School by donating food for the holiday,” said Harry Howell, a trustee with the lodge.

“We look forward each holiday season [that we are] participating in food distribution.”

The lodge receives the names of the families from the school's principal, Ellen Faliskie and her staff. Sue Schlasta is the coordinator for the school.

Food for the baskets is donated by a member of the lodge. The baskets are put together by Dave's Super Duper in Honesdale

When the baskets are prepared, the lodge members pick them up and give them to the families at their lodge.

The lodge has donated baskets to families for the last two years.

They plan on continuing to help families around the holidays as long as possible.
