CHESTER -- Audrey Calkin of Honesdale, Pa., was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Dauntless Battalion ROTC Commissioning Ceremony at Widener University on May 14. Calkin graduated from Widener on May 16 with a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Calkin will enter active duty in the Army Medical Department Basic Officer Leader Course at Joint Base, San Antonio, Texas.

She had her rank pinned on by her parents, Peter and Carlene Calkin; and her great uncle, retired Lt. Col. Elery Calkin.
