This true story is set in Austria during the start of World War II.

Maria, a nun, is sent to help Captain von Trapp care for his seven children.

The newly formed family must work together to escape the Nazis and flee the country.

Complete with classics like "Edelweiss," "Sixteen Going On Seventeen," and "The Sound of Music," this show is sure to bring you back to the first time you experienced this timeless story.

Janeen Gallik stars as Maria and Danny Rodriguez as Mr. von Trapp in this HHS Players production.

Director Kerri Stuart is at the helm and is enthusiastic for opening night.

"This is my first year directing," Stuart said. "I love it because of how wonderful the kids have been.

"My job has been easy because the kids are so enthusiastic and willing to give 1,000 percent."

She said choosing to perform the Rogers and Hammerstein classic was not a difficult choice.

Not only is this year the 50th anniversary of the beloved film adaptation starring Julie Andrews, "it's one of those classic favorites that stick with you."

Stuart added the HHS Players are looking forward to bringing these characters to life.

"These kids have worked so hard and are so talented," she said. "It just jumps off of the stage."
