NORTHEAST PA - Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced Friday that 16 suspected child predators were arrested over a two-week period.

Each offender lived in Northeastern Pennsylvania, with one located in Wayne County.

"I appreciate the work of our Child Predator Section and the law enforcement agents from the Lackawanna County DA's office, the Pennsylvania State Police, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Scranton, Dunmore and Carbondale Police Departments," Attorney General Kane said in a release. "We deliver on our promise to track, flush out, and prosecute criminals who hurt our kids."

These arrests are a result of an ongoing investigation focusing on the online sharing of child pornography and online advertisements regarding the sexual exploitation of children.

Suspected child predators should be reported to the Office of the Attorney General by calling the Child Predator Hotline at 1-800-385-1044.

Anyone who suspects an individual is an online predator or is sexually abusing a child can send an anonymous tip by texting PAKIDS + YOUR TIP to 847411.

The following is a list of those arrested in our area:

• Jason Verrastro, Wayne County, is charged with: one count of distribution of child pornography, 20 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

• Richard Adames, Pike County, is charged with: one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

• Russell Bohannan, Susquehanna County, is charged with: three counts of distribution of child pornography, 50 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

• Richard Edward Edwards Jr., Lackawanna County, is charged with: one count of distribution of child pornography, five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

• David J. Kolb, Lackawanna County, is charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

• Bradley Larson, Lackawanna County, is charged with: two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

• Charles J. Senke, Lackawanna County, is charged with: one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, one count of criminal use of a communication facility, one count of criminal attempt to commit indecent assault and one count of unlawful contact with a minor.

• Eric William Shay, Lackawanna County, is charged with: one count of unlawful contact with a minor one count of criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, one count of criminal use of a communication facility, one count of criminal attempt to commit indecent assault and one count of unlawful contact with a minor.

• John Slusser, Lackawanna County, is charged with: one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of criminal use of a communication facility and one count of dissemination of obscene and other sexual materials to minors.

• William Miller, Lackawanna County, is charged with six counts of possession of child pornography.

• Thomas Russell Winters, Lackawanna County, is charged with: one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, one count of criminal use of a communication facility and one count of criminal attempt to commit indecent assault.

• Zachary Zbegner, Lackawanna County, is charged with: one count of possession of child pornography.
