Few people on television annoy me as much as Chris Matthews of MSNBC, even if he’s supposedly a liberal.

Among Matthews’ many faults is his habit of asking guests questions he merely wants to answer himself. And then, of course, there are his many interruptions and his tendency to shout rather than speak in a conversational tone.

Did I mention that I don’t like this guy? Well, I don’t.

Just the other day, Matthews did a perfect — and sincere — impression of the kind of self-styled genius you might encounter in a saloon during a discussion of American foreign policy. The way to deal with ISIS, he SAID, is to recruit a certain fictional character to smite those devils:

Now, this sounds pretty tough, but when are we going to stop this? I mean, we get a person over there, we all know who they are, what happens then? Do we change the rules? Do we go into it with a Rambo-style attack and do what we can to get them out?

I just don’t know how long we can take this as human beings. I just think it’s a real problem. And I’m thinking of Rambo kind of stuff, because at some point you have got to go in there with what you got and do the best you can, or you’re not going to be very proud of yourself.

Rambo? Come on, Chris! Grow up!
