Diabetes Self Management Programs (DSMP) will be offered in both Honesdale and Vandling on Sept. 30, Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.

- Diabetes Self Management Programs (DSMP) will be offered in both Honesdale and Vandling on Sept. 30, Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.

Each series consists of three two-hour classes. The Honesdale series will be conducted from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Hospital’s David Katz Conference Center.

The Vandling series will be at the McAndrew Family Health Center, 111 Main Street from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This comprehensive program instructed by Wayne Memorial’s Certified Diabetes Educator Carol Kneier, MS, RD, LDN, CDE, covers medications, meal planning, glucose monitoring and exercise benefits.

Classes are based on the National Standards of the American Diabetes Association.

The cost is $50 per patient with a support person attending for free. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

All DSMPs are presented with support from the Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
