MONTROSE – Reps. Sandra Major (R-Susquehanna/Wayne/Wyoming) and Mike Peifer (Monroe/Pike/Wayne ) announced they will be hosting a concealed carry seminar in Wayne County on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Camp Ladore, 398 South St. in Waymart.

“These conceal carry events have been very popular throughout the region,” said Major. “The state’s northern tier is home to many gun owners who are interested in learning more about the intricacies of the state’s gun laws as they pertain to them.

“I encourage anyone who would like to attend to sign up early, as these events fill up quickly.”

Peifer agreed.

“I look forward to meeting with area gun owners and hearing from the experts on the legal aspects of Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine, which allows a homeowner to use deadly force if necessary when threatened by an armed intruder, as well as how to safely interact with the police when carrying a concealed weapon,” said Peifer. “These seminars are very informative for those who currently have a concealed carry permit, or anyone who may be considering applying for one.”

The seminar will feature Wayne County Sheriff Mark Steelman and Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards as guest speakers.

Registration is required for this event and can be made by going online at www.RepMajor.com or by calling Major’s Montrose office at (570) 278-3374. Seating is limited.
