Stephen an Suzanne Atcavage of Comprehensive Physical Therapy and Donna Getts-Marich, Administrator of Mallard Meadows Residential Healthcare Center, are pleased to announce that physical and occupational therapy services are now available to the public at the Mallard Meadows site.

CPT has been partnering with Mallard Meadows since February 2014 and providing services to the residents residing there.

CPT has a private suite within the Mallard Meadows facility which is fully equipped to provide rehabilitation services to the general public in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Mallard Meadows is located only a mile off the Waymart intersection of routes 6 and 296.

“Our facility is easily accessed and has plenty of parking,” states Donna Getts-Marich, “and our front living area is large, bright and comfortable both for clients as well s their caregivers.”

The main focus of any physical or occupational therapy program is to improve or restore mobility so that a person can move forward with their life and function at the highest level possible.

These therapy services are often an appropriate alternative to surgery and pain medication. They may also be used as an adjunct to recovery with those interventions.

Furthermore, as an integral member of the healthcare team, physical and occupational therapists consult with other health care professionals such as surgeons, physicians and mid-level practitioners to maximize recovery.

CPT’s professional staff brings diverse and complementary backgrounds with specialties spanning age groups from young to old and a multitude of conditions.

Common conditions treated include neck and back pain, balance and dizziness issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint replacements and sport specific injuries.

Furthermore, we are proud of the educational background of our therapists, including several Doctorate level physical therapists and two occupational therapy team members possessing certificates in lymphatic treatment.

Lymphatic treatment is a specialty available at this site.

Mallard Meadows is a 72 bed personal care facility in the quiet semi-rural setting of Waymart. Residents at Mallard currently enjoy the dedicated care of the CPT staff in the spacious, up-to-date PT department.

Each new incoming resident is assessed for their personal capabilities and ability to function safely in the senior living setting. Problems are detected early and care is initiated resulting in fewer injuries and falls.

If a Resident Care Manager from Mallard identifies a decline in a resident’s status, a consult with CPT and the resident’s physician is ordered.

Offering outpatient rehabilitation at Mallard benefits not only Waymart, but the surrounding communities as well.

Mallard Meadows and CPT are easy to reach and deliver a comfortable and accessible service close to home.
