HONESDALE - The Northeasters Honesdale Barbershop chorus of the Barbershop Harmony Society will present its 36th annual show, entitled “Girls” on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7PM at Honesdale High School.

HONESDALE - The Northeasters Honesdale Barbershop chorus of the Barbershop Harmony Society will present its 36th annual show, entitled “Girls” on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7PM at Honesdale High School.

It will feature songs about girls. The following songs are included in the program: “Mary Lou,” “Barbara Ann”, “Sweet Caroline”, “Peg O’ My Heart,” “Ain’t She Sweet,” “I Want a Girl,” "Five Foot Two Eyes of Blue.”

Four chapter quartets will also perform; namely, Chordially Yours, Basses Loaded, Stourbridge Lion, and Northeast Spirit . The 24 man chorus of all ages and from all walks of life is directed by Mrs. Tamlyn Ebert. Sandy Gabrielson will be the narrator.

The guest professional championship barbershop quartet will be “Up All Night”. They have great voices and hysterical skits

The $10 tickets (Students $5) may be purchased at the door or from any chorus member.

The show will be a great evening of entertainment for the entire family.

The chorus is always looking for additional singers. Rehearsal is every Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. at the Abraham House, 861 Maple Ave. in Honesdale.

The Barbershop Harmony Society is the largest all-male singing organization in the world with about 30,000 members, including 1500 quartets in 800 chapters.

Besides singing for fun, barbershoppers perform for worthy organizations, charities and sporting events.

The Honesdale Chapter was founded in 1979 and awards annual scholarships to Wallenpaupack , Honesdale and Western Wayne High School students.

Part of the proceeds will go to support “Wayne County Habitat for Humanity”, and the High School scholarships.

Shuttle Service will be available from the Upper Parking Lot to the High School and return shuttle after the show courtesy of B&B Dodge.
