- On Wednesday, law enforcement in Wayne County "announced a successful Operation Fall Clean Up," according to a press release from District Attorney Janine Edwards.

The goal of the operation was "to simultaneously serve numerous felony drug warrants and a theft warrant" in both Wayne and Pike Counties.

The operation was executed with joint cooperation between the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and the Pike County District Attorney's Office.

Other participating officials were law enforcement officials from Honesdale Borough, Hawley Borough and Lehigh Township police departments.

As a result of this operation, "Thirteen out of fourteen warrants were served and arrests made."

In the press release, Edwards is quoted as saying, "Drugs in our community represent a huge threat to our safety. This office will not tolerate drug dealers on our streets. Operation Fall Clean Up demonstrates the dedication of our Pennsylvania State Police and local law enforcement officers have to rid our towns of drug activity."

Edwards continues by saying, "Operations such as this, as well as the arrest of a major drug dealer last month in Honesdale, are what the Wayne County Drug Task Force is there for and this office intends to continue to utilize it to the fullest extent."
