Authorities say the deaths of an elderly northeastern Pennsylvania couple are being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Officials say 83-year-old Barbara Robinson was found shot to death at the couple's home in a Stroudsburg retirement community.

Her 76-year-old husband, Richard, had also been shot. He later died at a hospital without regaining consciousness.

Authorities say a caretaker for the couple called police after arriving at the scene Saturday morning.

Investigators say the couple was found shot in their bed. A gun was recovered from the scene.
