The dam siren was activated on Thursday morning at about 6:45 a.m. in Hawley.
“The cause is unknown at this time,” reported Hawley Fire Chief Eugene Kause. “We are working with the County [Commuications] Center, Hawley Borough and Purosky & Tuckerman the county radio repair people to try to find out the problem.”
This is the second time in three weeks that this happened. The other time was during the Memorial Day Weekend power outage.
There are two dam sirens in Hawley, one on top the Borough Hall and the other at the Hawley sewer treatment plant. In the event of a dam failure, PPL would alert the County Communications Center to sound the alarm.

MORE WILL BE REPORTED WHEN INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE.
