Champions
This dynamic links duo dominated the field throughout the event, which is held each year on the same weekend as the US Open.

Howe & Froncek punched their ticket to Sunday’s final by cruising to a 6&5 win over Joe Lavenduski &?Sam Lewis in the semis.

Irv Williams & Tom Powell were waiting for them in the grand finale. This veteran duo earned a spot in the title tilt by eliminating the team of Curtis Haley &?Jeff Tamblyn.

That one went right down to the final green before Williams & Powell emerged with a 1-up win.

Sunday’s last match was decided early on when Howe & Froncek scrambled for a key par at #4. Williams & Powell were on the green and looking at a birdie chance, but each man three putted for bogey.

From that point onward, Howe & Froncek rolled to a 4&3 decision.

Jimmy Gardas &?Howard Vroon earned medalist honors for this year’s Member/ Guest. The former champs fired a 6-under 64 in Friday’s qualifying round.

Gardas &?Vroon were eliminated in the quarters, suffering a 1-down loss to Lavenduski &?Lewis.

Dr. Newton Mullins &?Bryan Mullins also advanced to the quarterfinals, but were sent packing by Howe & Froncek (2&1).

Defending champions Eric Williams & Matt Haley also fell in the quarters, coming out on the short end of a 2&1 score against the team of Williams &?Powell.
