The Wallenpaupack Communities Association (WCA) will be meeting on Saturday, June 18, 8:30 a.m. at the PPL Environmental Learning Center. This month, several local organizations will be presenting information on how each can offer their assistance with regards to Lake Wallenpaupack.


The Wallenpaupack Communities Association (WCA) will be meeting on Saturday, June 18, 8:30 a.m. at the PPL Environmental Learning Center. This month, several local organizations will be presenting information on how each can offer their assistance with regards to Lake Wallenpaupack.
The groups being represented include Lake Watch, the Tafton Dive Team and TowBoatU.S., operated from New Wave Marina. After the presentation there will be ample time for a question and answer session.
This meeting date was changed from June 11.
Breakfast on July 9
The July 9 meeting will be presented by the Community Association Institute (CAI).  Topics will include safety and liability issues for communities, with the subject material being well suited for communities having interior lakes or those situated directly on Lake Wallenpaupack.  Presentations will be made by representatives from CIRMS, Community Association Underwriters, the PA Fish and Boat Commission and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. This meeting will include a breakfast so reservations are required and can be made by contacting WCA President John Carney at jcarney@wleonline.org no later than July 1.  However, please note, there is no charge for the breakfast.
PPL will be offering tours of the dam following the meeting which is projected to end by approximately 11 a.m.
The PPL Environmental Learning Center is located near the PPL Lake Wallenpaupack offices at Wilsonville, Palmyra Township (Pike), off of Route 6 between Wallenpaupack Area High School and the bridge that is on the Wayne and Pike County line.
