 The following cases were addressed Thursday, October 22, 2009 by the Honorable Raymond L. Hamill, President Judge, Wayne County. The report was issued on Tuesday.
• Steve Richard Krol, age 28 of Honesdale was sentenced to a State Correctional Institution for 12 months to 36 months for one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a felony of the 3rd Degree.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, restitution in the amount of $2,800.00, $300.00 for the cost of the public defender, obtain a GED, obtain full time employment upon parole, submit to the drawing of a DNA sample and pay $250.00 for the cost of the sample.  The incident occurred on May 11, 2009, in Honesdale Borough when Krol removed several pieces of jewelry from a private residence. 
• Houston Ward Huffman, age 45 of Roosevelt, UT was sentenced to a State Correctional Institution for 12 months to 24 months for one count of Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License, graded as a felony of the 3rd degree.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, a fine in the amount of $500.00, $300.00 for the cost of the public defender, and undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment.  The incident occurred on May 14, 2009, in Lehigh Township when Pennsylvania State Police observed Huffman operating a tractor trailer without registration.  At that time Huffman was found to be in possession of a handgun.  
• William James West, age 36 of SCI Waymart, was sentenced to a State Correctional Institution for 2 1⁄2 years to five years for one count of DUI-Highest Rate, graded as a misdemeanor of the 1st degree.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, a fine in the amount of $2,500.00, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, and obtain full time employment.  The incident occurred on April 9, 2009, in Texas Township when Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate the report of a hit and run crash.  At that time it was discovered that West had struck a parked vehicle and then fled the scene.  His BAC was .272%.
