This is the heart-cry of King David in Psalm 25. He begins the Psalm with, “To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You” (verses 1 & 2).

Show me; teach me; lead me

This is the heart-cry of King David in Psalm 25. He begins the Psalm with, “To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You” (verses 1 & 2).
Have you ever been in a state of needing more knowledge than you have at the present time? We’re not speaking of book learning or school education – we’re talking about wisdom beyond anything this world has to offer. Have you ever cried out to God when everything else seems to have failed?
David did as he lamented, “SHOW ME Your Ways, O Lord – TEACH ME Your Paths – LEAD ME in Your Truth – for You are the God of my Salvation – on You I wait all the day” (Verses 4 & 5) – a good model prayer for each of us today.
And he received assurance from God later in Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go – I will guide you with My eye.”
Many times, even in the brightest of sunshine or in glaring light, we seem to be in complete darkness – not knowing which way to turn – not being able to figure out the next step, and realizing that we need help from some higher authority.
All too often we turn to earthly methods to solve our problems – books by human authors – far out religions – pills and medications – only to find nothing really works.
We all have a built-in knowledge of God – we were born with it. The Apostle Paul records it this way, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His Eternal Power and Godhead -- so that WE ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE” (Romans 1:20).
We found this to be true in our early days in South Africa. The great Zulu nation had a knowledge of God before any Missionaries ever came to them. As we were told, they simply looked around at all they saw and realized that it could not just happen without a Master Plan – without a Master Hand. They knew this great Creator as “The Big-Big” and when the Missionaries introduced them to God, their response was – “We knew Him by what we have seen from His hand.”
Have you opened your eyes and taken a real good look at the creation all around you? The grass, the flowers, the trees, the sky, the stars, the animals – all created by a Master Plan – and kept operating in perfect timing and harmony all these thousands of years.
Of course “educated” professors today will attempt to squash any thought of creational teachings – they think they “know best.” But simply consider the complexities of the human body – breathing – the pumping of the heart – the automatic healing of our cuts and bruises -- WOW – WHAT MIRACLES!
Look at your hands – move your fingers – twist them in all directions. Look at your eyes in a mirror and try to understand the gift of sight. Consider the vast computer between your ears – storing years and years of learning and experiences. Think also of the miracle of birth – hold a new born baby in your hands and think of the progress of the past nine months of life forming in the mother’s body – the miracle of conception, growth, and birth.
No, modern “learned” professors will attribute it all to evolution and the process of scum, frogs, monkeys and chance over millions of years.
You have a choice – did you come from Adam and Eve and the hands of a loving, caring God, or from scum, frogs and monkeys, in an unproven process?
King David made a resounding statement, “I will Praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made – marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well” (Psalm 139:14).
Let’s  pray as David did in the closing verses of Psalm 25, “Oh, keep my soul and deliver me. Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You” (verses 20,21).
Can we echo these words? Can we stand assured of God’s Love for us, His Forgiveness, His Assurance, His interest in the minutest details of our lives?
All of this is readily available to anyone, at anytime, anywhere, by simply praying and asking God to forgive us, make us His child, give us a new life, and assuring us a place in Heaven – by simply accepting His Salvation through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
In closing, we quote the promise of Jesus Christ, “The Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you” (John 14:26).
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ – AND YOU WILL BE SAVED!” (Acts 16:31).
