With a big enthusiastic crowd looking on, Waymart Building Center remained undefeated in Moosic Mountain Babe Ruth action Tuesday night. The local lads rolled to an 11-1 victory over the Diablos. This win catapults Coach Randy Beam's squad into the play-off semifinals.

Waymart Building Center continued its march toward a possible Moosic Mountain Babe Ruth Baseball title Tuesday night at the Homer Dome.

Coach Randy Beam's squad spotted the Diablos an early run, but then erupted for 11 of their own over the course of the next four frames. The result was a Mercy Rule-shortened 11-1 victory and a berth in the play-off semifinals.

"My expectations are very high for this team," Coach Beam told TWI Sports Tuesday. "We made it all the way to the championship game last year and lost. Our biggest goal this year is to get back there and win it."

Josh Miller drew the starting nod for Waymart and ultimately earned the win. The hard-throwing righty worked four innings of 3-hit ball before yielding to reliever Derek Gillis, who sealed the deal.

Offensively, Jake Gillis and Jeremy Yzeik led Waymart's attack. Gillis laced four hits, including a pair of inside-the-park homers. He also scored four runs. Yzeik crushed a towering 3-run homer to centerfield in the final frame.
