The Wallenpaupack Area School District is now accepting kindergarten registration requests for the 2008-2009 school year. Parents of children who will be five years old on or before August 31,2008 should call to arrange a registration/screening appointment.


The Wallenpaupack Area School District is now accepting kindergarten registration requests for the 2008-2009 school year. Parents of children who will be five years old on or before August 31,2008 should call to arrange a registration/screening appointment.
Registration/screening appointments will be scheduled on:
•April 2, 2008 at the South Elementary School,
•April 9,10 and 11, 2008 at the North Primary Building, and
•April 15 and 16, 2008 at the Hawley Kindergarten Center.
Parents are asked to call Mrs. Ann Monaghan at the district's registration office from Monday,  February 11,2008 through Friday, March 14,2008 at (570) 226-4557 ext 3036 to begin
the registration process. Registration forms and additional information will be mailed to your home.
Prior to school entrance, parents must:
• Supply proof of residence in the Wallenpaupack Area School District
• Present verification of the child's date of birth
• Provide a record of immunization dates
The Pennsylvania Department of Health requires the following immunizations for all children entering school:
•4 doses of tetanus * (1 dose on or after the 4th birthday)
•4 doses of diphtheria * (1 dose on or after the 4"1 birthday)
•3 doses of polio
•2 doses of measles **
•1 dose of mumps **
•1 dose of rubella ** (German measles)
•3 doses of hepatitis B
•1 dose of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or history of disease
(* Usually given as DTP or DT or TD.  **Usually given as MMR.)
