The Sheriff’s Office will be implementing new equipment and software for the processing of a License to Carry a Firearm.
The installation will occur on Sept. 24.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, who oversees the upgrade, requires that no new applications, or renewal applications, be process at least one week prior to implementation. Therefore, the Sheriff’s Office will be unable to process applications starting Friday, Sept. 17 until Monday, Sept. 27.
Individuals can still drop off their completed application forms during this time.
Anyone interested in applying can still pick up the application forms at the Sheriff’s Office, or they have been made available on-line.
Applicants can visit the County web-site at: http://www.co.wayne.pa.us, click on “County links” then “Sheriff” and then go to the section titled: “License to Carry a Firearm Information and Application Forms”.
The forms can then be printed from the site, completed, and then dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office along with the initial $5 fee.
