Annie Vega was a solid offensive threat last season at Wallenpaupack Area.
This year, though, she’s blossomed into one of the top all-round players in the entire Lackawanna League.
Vega averaged eight points a game as a junior. Now, in her senior campaign, Annie is leading Division One with 14.3 ppg.
She’s also the Lady Bucks’ top rebounder, pulling down nine boards per contest.
“Annie is very difficult for other teams to defend,” Coach Bob Donovan told TWI Sports. “She’s very athletic and versatile. Annie can play with her back to the basket, but she’s most effective shooting a mid-range jumper.”
Vega and her Lady Buck teammates will be back on the hardwood Monday evening, at home, against Scranton High School. Opening tip for this Division One battle is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Annie is hoping to attend West Chester University in the fall. She wants to major in special education.
