Former Honesdale High School star Katy DeGraw is off to a stellar start in her NCAA hoops career.
One of the Lady Hornets’ all-time leading scorers, DeGraw is now a freshman at Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey. She tipped-off her varsity career with a solid performance against Vassar.
The Cyclones dropped their season-opener by a score of 95-89. However, Katy was on the floor for 22 minutes and made her presence felt. DeGraw scored seven points, hauled down five rebounds and handed out three assists in a losing effort.
Katy was a 4-year starter and 3-time Lackawanna League All-Star here in the Maple City. The highlight of her career came late last winter when she finally topped the 1,000-point mark for her varsity career.
Next up for Centenary is a berth in the Hunter College Invitational. The Cyclones will play an opening round game against on Friday night.
