Wayne County Habitat for Hum-anity hosted its 15th annual 5K walk/run this weekend.
The event was held on Saturday at the Honesdale High School Athletic Complex and attracted nearly 130 runners of all ages and abilities.
“We enjoyed a beautiful morning,” Race Director Debby Wolf told TWI Sports.
“Teams of runners from Honesdale’s cross country and field hockey team came out to support Habitat.”
Debby went on to say that runners from Hawley’s Eastern Propane also attended, as well as a team from Sparta (NJ).
Habitat for Humanity’s 5K represents the second leg of the Wayne County Triple Crown.
This year’s edition of the local distance running trifecta began in July with the Dr. Perkins Memorial Run. It will conclude on Saturday, September 18th with the Wayne County YMCA 5K Walk/Run.
That event is also slated to be run in Honesdale.
