Last Thrusday night, two of Paupack’s finest bowlers, Michael Weber and Scott Bates (both of Honesdale) authored 300 games during the Wayne Major League.

For Scott, it was a memorable one, as it was also his birthday.

This past Thursday night however, cheers were replaced with tears, happiness with grief and sadness.

The Wayne Major League and Wallenpaupack Bowling Center paid respect to Michael Mang, Sr. who was killed in a tragic car accident on Thursday morning.

Levi Travis II, the president of the league, as well as a retired Army sergeant, began the night with a few simple and humble words, concluding by asking the gentlemen to "remove their hats and join him in a moment of silence."

Mr. Mang leaves behind a son, Michael, Jr. who is a bowler in Wallenpaupack Bowling Center's youth program. He was also the son of Les and the brother of Pat, both of whom are veteran and respected bowlers, as well as natives of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

In other news, Chris Breidenstein, during Monday evening's Penn -York League, rolled a 277 game and concluded the evening wit hhis first 700 series, 732.

Marty Kirsten, Jr. rolled a 268 game and Mark Wilmot, a 264 both during the Penn-York League.

During the same league, Janet DeLuca bowled scores of 194 and 190. Karen Caldwell rolled a 211 game and Elfreida Ferrara rolled a 207 game, both during the Hawley Ladies League.
