Wallenpaupack Area’s boys varsity soccer team celebrated Senior Night in fine fashion Wednesday.

The Buckhorns closed out a wildly-successful week of Lackawanna League action by posting a 2-1 win over Delaware Valley.

“We gave up an ‘own goal’ just eight minutes into the game,” Coach Scott Bonagura told TWI Sports. “Then, we started attacking and being alot more aggressive. This was a great comeback win for us.”

With the win, Paupack finished up its Lackawanna League regular season with a 7-5-2 overall record, good for fourth in Division One.

Bouncing Back
After a critical mistake that led to an early 1-0 deficit, Paupack dominated the remainder of this contest.

John Kilduff evened things with a goal off a Riley McConnell pass early in the second half. Then, with less than three minutes to go in regulation, the same duo struck again.

This time it was McConnell who found the back of DV’s net. Riley pounced on the rebound when John’s original shot was stopped. He blasted the ball past Warriors’ keeper Will Polatnik for the game winner.

Chris Schneider turned in another stellar game between the pipes. Paupack’s keeper stopped all six DV shots he faced en route to the 2-1 victory.

Buckhorns' Senior Night honorees included: Riley McConnell, Pat Kilduff, Brendan Beilman, Ryan McDevitt, Jamie Snyder, Brady Neenan, Mike Zayatz, Justin Frick, Cody Ragonese, Luke Diolosa, Drew Roy and Keegan Marchand.

Scoring Summary...
WAL  (7-5-2)   0  2 - 2
DV    (10-4-0)  1  0 - 1
