To the Editor:
God is everlasting; God is truth. Science seeks to find the truth. However, the everlasting God chose to create the earth and its inhabitants is possible.
If science has unlocked some of the secrets of how the Almighty did it, fantastic! There is no reason to doubt that the Bible does relate the story in the language of the time.
Grandma’s “day” may have been 40 years, whereas, the Bible “day” may have been 4 billion years, considering that a 24 hour day, or time itself, could not exist until at least the end of the first “day” or whenever the earth started to rotate on its axis. Genesis I’s story telling of the progression of the beginning of the forms on the earth is not unlike or in contradiction to, the findings of scientists.
Being a scientist should put one more in awe of God’s wonderful plan and His providence in all creation.
