Equinunk -

To the Editor:
It was so nice to see that the people in our “home” town community of Equinunk and Pine Mill have not changed over the years.  Sue, our sons and I moved away from the area in the late 70’s.  At that time you could always depend on the people in the community for help in times of need or other occasions. For instance, when Sue and I got married (in the Pine Mill Church) the fine people in the community put on a great reception for us. They supplied everything including the cake.
Well these same people and new members of the community did it again for our family.  My Dad, Bill Macey, recently passed away.  The people of Pine Mill, Equinunk and the surrounding area came to our aid again in this time of sorrow.  They put on a wonderful luncheon following my Dad’s funeral service at the Pine Mill Community Hall.  The kindness, love and friendship shown our family was wonderful.  The food and desserts were outstanding.  We all had a chance to reflect and share stories about Dad’s life.  This time with friends and family helped ease some of the sorrow one has for losing a parent.  It was also a reminder to all of us about how lucky we are to have such support.
On behalf of my Step Mom Marge, my brother Steve, his wife Chris, my wife Sue, me and our sons, (Bill, Alan and David) we want to thank all of you for all you did.
THANK YOU.
(Signed)
Sue and Bill Macey, Altura, MN
P.S.  Marge, Steve and Chris are fortunate to still live in this wonderful community.
