To the Editor:
If Hillary or Obama are elected I am very much concerned with what will happen to the law abiding gun owners right to be able to keep your weapons to use to hunt, shoot and to protect yourself and your family. I know they won't be concerned about taking the guns from the criminals; they just want the guns from the lawful owner.
They have another trick up their sleeve and that is to be called bullet serialization. It means every bullet would have a serial number engraved on it and a record kept of who buys them and it will be traced back to the owner in a crime. There are ten states checking into it and Pennsylvania is one. No criminal is going to buy a bullet and leave a trail that leads to him. This will make ammo so expensive, which they hope will deter people not to buy it. If these kind of things take place in the United States we can end up like Australia, since they have been forced to give up their guns to the cost of 500 million dollars of tax payer money. Statistics from the first year indicate the country wide, homicides went to 3.2 percent, assaults were up 8.6 percent, and armed robbery went up to 44 percent. In some areas, homicide went up to 300 percent. Its is apparent that while the law abiding citizen turned theirs in but the criminals did not, and the public is paying a real high price. It is also the same in England and in Canada.
Gun owners, if you are not a member of the National Rifle Association ( NRA) you should be! Please remember to vote for the right candidate and we may not have a problem.
Thank you,
Donald J. Ellsworth, Waymart, Pa.
