Things health reform will fix

To the Editor:
I'm a nurse and have seen some awful things health insurance companies have done. Some parents are told to get a divorce so their children will get health care; some people think they're covered to find out their insurance won't cover "that" illness, and some can't get coverage because they lost a job and have a history of diabetes, cancer, asthma, depression, anxiety, etc. etc. Some young, sturdy graduates get a concussion or illness and find their bills will follow them forever.  Some had surgery before and now find they have maxed out their coverage this year or for their lifetime. THESE ARE THINGS HEALTH REFORM WILL FIX.
Influential Republicans are starting to say, yes we need this reform in order to keep health care from bankrupting our country and our corporations. (The current Senate Finance bill will SAVE $89 billion dollars over 10 years, says the CBO).  The American Nurses Association and others are supporting reform because they know insurance companies exist for profit, not for health "care."  AARP and the AMA are supporting health reform.  It's time to get it done!
