To the Editor:
Acting Sheriff Mark Steelman has already shown that he is the right man for the job.  One of the most desired qualities we look for in our elected officials is the ability to seamlessly accomplish their jobs under extreme pressure and stress.  Often we are told that a candidate “will” be that person based on some history of good character.  In Mark Steelman we do not need to wonder.
Acting Sheriff Mark Steelman has repeatedly demonstrated his good character, strong community ties and understanding, and a love for his job by stepping in quietly when needed the most.
I think sometimes we forget just how vital off-year local elections are to us.  We forget that these are the elections that will directly affect our personal lives regardless of our social economic standing or our time of life.  Acting Sheriff Mark Steelman will make a positive difference for all of us.
I look forward to Tuesday, November 3rd, so that I can add my vote to the tally that will change Acting Sheriff Mark Steelman to Sheriff Mark Steelman.  Thank you for joining me in casting your vote for a good man who is the right man for this important job.
