To the Editor:
While the American Legion is opposed to political patronage we must support those who go "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty"; Wayne County Acting Sheriff Mark Steelman's efforts illustrate the principle of working above and beyond the call of duty, exemplifying the standard of The American Legion; That Is, "By Our Devotion To Mutual Helpfulness."
He is a gentleman that personally inculcates a sense of individual obligation to the county of Wayne. He has aided the American Legion with several programs and made possible employment experiences for young adults with disabilities from Western Wayne, Wallenpaupack and Wayne Highlands; enlightened us on the laws protecting monuments, provided area youth with information on employment opportunities within the county and how the legal system works, just to name a few.
Mark continues programs for kids created by his mentor, past Wayne County Sheriff Charles Morelli , who was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Hamlin. There is a plethora of positive opportunities for Wayne County with a man like Mark Steelman at the helm of our sheriffs office which is why he has earned my families vote on this November 3rd.
Mark Steelman, a man who understands sacrifice and is willing to make the same when called upon. He exemplifies integrity, initiative, and innovation and is willing to go "Above and beyond the call of Duty"! Therefore as a private citizen and resident of Wayne County I respectfully request the good people of Wayne County endorse, support and vote for Mark Steelman November 3rd for Wayne County Sheriff.
For God and Country,
Manny Mirailh, Lake Ariel, Pa.
