HONESDALE -

To the Editor:
For many years, I have heard people say, "There is nothing to do in Honesdale or they have nothing to offer. How wrong they are!!!
Now that everyone seems to be up in arms about the parking meters and being charged to park on the weekends, I have to speak out. First of all you must hear the whole story that unfortunately has no good answer. It seems that people that work or live on Main Street are parking in the spaces that should be used for shoppers, thereby creating the issue. I have a couple of ideas to help the situation First, attend a boro council meeting and get all the details correct. If you are opposed to paying for the parking, here's a thought.
Take a trip to Honesdale and park on North Main or any of the streets that don't have parking meters, and stroll your way down Main Street just to enjoy what there is to offer. You will be amazed by what is available right here in this beautiful little town.
Just think how much you could save in gas by not driving to Scranton or elsewhere to shop. Besides, you can find most anything in the variety of shops here are on Main, Church, and the side streets of this awesome little piece of Amencana right here in our backyard.
The Historical Society is opening again on May 17th, the park will be full of fountain, flora, and concerts, the streets will be lined with festivals and parades, train rides leaving right from the center of town and much more. The best is yet to be, just take notice to what you see now, and watch what can happen with your support. Just check out, vvww.honesdale.com or www.waynecountycc.com
Thank you,
