“It hits hard for home,” says Beach Lake Fire Chief Tony Franklin, sharing what firefighters face at fatal scenes.
“I think the biggest thing is, everybody individually handles it differently or mentally, especially when it’s a child, because all of us are parents, too. That’s probably one of the worst.”
Following the fatal fire in Berlin Township Friday, Chief Franklin said, “I had already contacted, through the County, a crisis intervention so that the guys could sit down and discuss and talk about it.”
