Edith E. Rhodes, Newfoundland, died Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Villa Nursing Home.

Her husband was the late John Rhodes, Sr. who passed away in 1982.
 Born in West Haven, Ct., daughter of the late William and Josephine Smith Farquharson, she was a member of the S. Canaan Free Methodist and prior to retirement had been employed at Dresser Industries, Stratford, Ct. as a secretary.

She was a graduate of West Haven Central High School, West Haven, Ct. She was a member of V.F.W. Women’s Auxillary in Ct., Order of the Eastern Star Golden Rod Chapter #34, West Haven, Ct.

Surviving are grandchildren Tammy Lynn Hess and Wendy Kelly, both of Newfoundland, Penny King, Lake Ariel, and John Rhodes, S. Canaan; great-grandchildren Heather, Robert Jr., Douglas, Ricky, Chelsea, Chloe, John, Ashley, Samantha and Cassidy; a daughter-in-law Penny Rosengrant, Lake Henry.

 She was preceded in death by a son John Jr.

 The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home Rt. 296 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel by Rev. William Rushik..

Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
