Harry Schloesser, age 94, of Bethany Village, died Wednesday, February 13 at Wayne Memorial Hospital of natural causes. A World War II veteran, he was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps who served in Africa and Italy, as well as a mechanic on B26 bombers. Following that, he worked in Philadelphia, building rail cars for the Budd Co. at its Red Lion Plant until retirement, when he moved to Crestwood Village, a retirement community near Lakehurst, NJ. Following the death of Adele, his wife of 60 years, in 2006, he relocated to Wayne County.


A member of the Masonic Order, Richmond Lodge in Philadelphia since 1935, he was also an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts for many years prior to retirement.
He is survived by his son Warren of Honesdale, daughter Barbara Campanaro and husband Leonard of Tempe, Arizona, and grandchildren Annemarie Zaitz, Elizabeth Schloesser, Karl Schloesser, Katy De Haven, and Andrew Campanaro, as well as great grandson Nicholas De Haven, who was the light of his final years.


A memorial service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the Northeastern PA Council, Boy Scouts of America, Moosic, PA.
Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, PA.
