Scranton chamber seeks award nominations

Do you know a business that represents the very best of our local entrepreneurial spirit? The Greater Scranton Chamber and MetroAction are seeking nominations for the inaugural SAGE Awards. The SAGE Awards, which stands for Scranton Awards for Growth and Excellence, celebrate the outstanding efforts of our local business
community and their talent, creativity, and innovation in a challenging business environment. Awards will be given in the following categories:

* Best Practices (Categories: Community Involvement, Customer
Service, Human Resources and Leadership, Technology and
Innovation), sponsored by First Liberty Bank and Trust
* Excellence in Professional Development, sponsored by Penn Foster
* Green Practices, sponsored by Pennsylvania American Water Company
* Healthy Workplace of the Year, sponsored by Blue Cross of
Northeastern Pennsylvania and Chamber/Choice/
* Hometown Star, sponsored by Pennstar Bank
* New and Emerging Small Business, sponsored by Fidelity Deposit and
Discount Bank
* Non-Profit Organization of the Year, sponsored The Wright Center
for Graduate Medical Education
* Pride and Progress (Categories: Exterior Renovations, Interior
Renovations, New Construction, Green Renovations, Landscape/Site
Design, Community Pride), sponsored by Pennoni Associates, Inc.
* Small Business of the Year, sponsored by Fidelity Deposit and
Discount Bank
* Solo-preneur of the Year, sponsored by First National Community Bank
* Woman of Excellence, sponsored by Wells Fargo
* Young Entrepreneur

The winners of these awards will be announced at the Chamber's Awards
Gala on November 11 at The Mellow Theater, Lackawanna College. In
addition, all finalists (with the exception of Pride and Progress
finalists) will be entered into the People's Choice Award category,
sponsored by People's National Bank, and the recipient will be
determined by a community-wide popular vote.

The SAGE Awards give business and other organizations the opportunity to
showcase themselves and demonstrate their success to the community. It
is also a great way to open doors to new opportunities

The award finalists and winners will receive extensive pre and
post-event exposure through our marketing partnerships with several
media outlets, including Lamar Advertising Company, WBRE, WYOU,
WOLF-TV: FOX, My Network and CW.
