Honesdale Police responded Friday to Honesdale High School for a report of two males who allegedly consumed an alcoholic beverage before school.
The school administration was alerted by other concerned students after observing the two suspected males allegedly drink an unknown substance on a school bus while traveling to school. A search of their possessions located the drink container, a package of cigarettes and a plastic baggy of marijuana, according to Honesdale Police.
One of the 16-year-old students is being charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of tobacco on school property and underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The other will be charged with underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage.
