Veterans Day ceremony to be held

 The ceremony celebrating Veterans Day 2009, will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, November 11th at the Veterans Memorial in Carlton Drake Park, Routes 1919 and 507 (Main Street) Newfoundland. (This is opposite the Wallenpaupack Area South Elementary School.)
The speaker will be James Dougherty- Veterans Service Representative for Congressman Christopher P. Carney. My. Dougherty was the First Veteran hired under the “Wounded Warrior Program” and has served his position since June 3rd, 2008. He served in the U.S. Army - Military Police and is responsible for drafting Congressional Inquiries on behalf of Veterans and active service men and women and advocate on their behalf.
The program will also feature the Gold Medal winners of the Essay Contest from South Elementary Center, The Band from Lake Wallenpaupack Area High School and the song styling of Gloria Kaye.
The program is sponsored by Post 859 American Legion- Newfoundland.
