Did anyone see the hot air balloon Saturday?

Reports are that a red, white and blue hot air balloon, carrying a number of people, was seen flying unusually low over Honesdale, around 6 p.m. It appeared to come from the west and followed the Lackawaxen River until rising up and over the eastern hill.

If anyone took a photograph or has any other information, or you were in the balloon gondola, we welcome your pictures or reports. They may be sent to twinews@wayneindependent.com or the Managing Editor, Peter Becker, may be called on Monday at (570)253-3055. Any other Columbus Day Weekend photos or reports are welcome as well!

Enjoy the beautiful weather, fall foliage and activities, and be safe!
