Work continues on a natural gas well in Oregon Township on Thursday. It appears that Ziegenfuss Drilling, of New Jersey, is casing the well point with reinforced steel. Chesapeake Appalachia, of West Virginia, received a drilling permit for this site from the state Department of Environmental Protection in February. Reports indicate the company will target the Oriskany formation - not the Marcellus Shale - which does not require approval from the Delaware River Basin Commission, since it will not be horizontally fractured.
