Early screening for colon and rectal cancers is advised, said Laura Toole, Director of Education and Outreach for the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. Wayne County Commissioners, March 19th, issued a proclamation noting Thursday March 26 as C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day. The event is meant to raise awareness throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Participating employers allow C.A.S.U.A.L. Day, where staff may dress casual for the day, wearing C.A.S.U.A.L. Day T-shirts and pins. Proceeds benefit research, education and survivor programs related to colon and rectal cancers.
