Six alleged Internet predators were arrested this week in Pennsylvania, among them a White Mills man and another from Dingman’s Ferry.
A press release from Attorney General Tom Corbett’s office identifies the defendants as follows: Glenn L. Quail, 39, of White Mills; Theodore P. Malinowski, II, 34, of Dingman’s Ferry, Pike County; John H. Hettes, 53, Wyoming, Luzerne County; Timothy E. Shorkey, 33, East Stroudsburg, Monroe County; Robert W. Lohr, 40, Gibbon Glade, Fayette County; and Dennis C. Brossman, 50, of Lebanon County.
The men are accused of entering online chatrooms and sexually propositioning young girls, or sending them sexually explicit videos or photos. The “young girls” were actually undercover agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit using online profiles of 13 and14 year-olds.
Quail is charged with the following two felonies: unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a computer, each punishable by up to seven years in prison and $15,000 fines.
He’s accused of using an Internet chat room to approach an undercover agent, who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, and allegedly sending her a nude webcam video. According to the criminal complaint, he asked the girl if she was home alone and gave her detailed directions on how to delete their online chats, before sending her a video.
Malinowski is charged with five felonies: four counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count of criminal use of a computer. Each count is punishable by up to 7 years in jail and $15,000 fines.
Malinowski is accused of approaching two different undercover agents online, believing them to be 13 and 14-year-old girls. He allegedly talked to them about sex, asking one to, “Tell me what kind of kinky stuff you want me to do,” while telling the other to take naked pictures of herself and mail them to him. He’s also accused of sending naked webcam videos of himself to both agents.
The cases will be prosecuted in the counties where the arrests occurred. The Attorney General thanked the local and state police, as well as the local DA’s offices for their help in the investigation.
